The Virtue of Patience

Hey friends, Another offering of ‘Thoughts I Have’, this time centred more around a constant internal struggle I face, and maybe one that many of you can relate to on some level. Or not, in which case, have fun reading through my nonsensical drivel, I hope you get some value from it.

International Women's Day

Hey friends! Back at it again with another post, but this time of happiness! For what, you may ask. Well, if you haven’t gathered from the title - today is International Women’s Day here in NZ, and it’s been a day where I’ve had all of my social media feeds filled with posts commending the women in the world who make this life the greatest for friends and family. So here I am, providing my own offering of sorts, a celebration of the women in my life who support, love and challenge me to be the best person I can be and to do the best I can with what I have.

An Open Letter - To My Ex-Best Friend

Hi there, I hope this finds you well and that you’re ready for an onslaught of words on these pages... To give the rest of you some background, this woman actually was in my life for ten years and exited at a rather pivotal point in my life around three years ago.

Maybe She's Born With It

Hey friends, another long absence from blogging - this adulting thing is hard af, but enough about the endless struggle and onto something I feel a lot of us can relate to (if not ourselves, then someone we know surely).

Auckland Food Show

Hey friends! Long time no blog! I know, I’m sorry - but I’m back with a vengeance, and a little more “cultured” this time around. As you can tell from the title of this, I went to the Auckland Food Show today.

Feels

These feels are sending me into overdrive. I have no idea what brought it on, nor how to stop it - I suppose I should divulge as to what I’m on about.

Survival of the bullied

Hey blogosphere, Me again, with another offering for your eyes! First things first, thank you for the wonderful reactions to my news in my last post - it was really humbling to see just how many people were there celebrating this success with me. Long may it continue throughout the months and years to come! Onwards for today...

Surprise!

Hey friends! Long time no blog, infinite amount of apologies about that, but I come bearing news!! For those who may not know, I work in Retail (those who know me well will know where I work, but for those who don’t, sucks for you) and recently, an opportunity had presented itself that I couldn’t possibly ignore.

Tessa's the Name

For those of you who are new, old, or who have come here against your own free will - allow me to introduce to you the girl behind the keyboard. My name is Tessa, I’m 23 years old from the wonderful city of Tauranga. More specifically, I call a little town named Mount Maunganui my home, my happy place, and the place where I feel whole.

My Story: Sui caedere

In light of Suicide Prevention Week, I thought that I'd share my story. My hope for this is that someday, these words on this screen will help someone feel a little less hopeless and helpless, and help them see that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel - you just have to be willing to fight for it.

A pre-recorded message

About a month ago, I made two of the hardest decisions of my life thus far. Those who know me well will tell you how stubborn I am, and that I often don’t go down without a fight. For me, having to give something up makes me feel anxious and scared about what’ll happen next. What will I do? Where will I go? How do I go about readjusting once everything is done? So on and so forth, I think you get the idea…

Change

There’s that dreaded six-letter word I always hated seeing and thinking about, at any given point in my life, it was always there to greet me. To remind me that everything around me is no longer the same as it once was.

Hello

Hi blog, it me. I know it’s been a while, three months almost, since I last wrote something on here. I’m not sure where I was going with that, let’s try again… Hi there! If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering where in the world has Tessa been. Or maybe, you don’t really mind. Either way, I’m back, and ready to get writing again.

Doing the life thing

If you’ve been around me at any point in the last four or five weeks, you may have noticed a couple of things…

Back with the blog – A long, necessary absence

Yes, I am back. And no, you are not dreaming.

Courage, conflict and closure

“Friends give us the courage to open up what we generally keep hidden from the rest of the world.”

Busy and confused

Those two words sum up my life in the best way right now.

This has not been my week...

I’m not sure why, but this week has been one of the more exhausting weeks I’ve had in a while. Some may accuse me of being overdramatic, or silly, or grumpy – but I’m not really in the mood to deal with life at the moment.

Spontaneity wins, and something new

Image
Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t blogged on here in a little while. Life tends to get a bit crazy, and that causes me to have to stop writing and take care of business. Anyway, I’m here now, and I’m going to tell you all what has happened in the last month. Here we go…

A happy new year!

Image
Hi everyone, I hope your Christmas and New Year celebrations treated you well, and that you got stupidly spoilt. My Christmas was spent with some of my extended family, as well as Chanel, her family, and my Mum in Whitianga (coastal town on the Coromandel Peninsula). It was good to see everyone, and eat way too much food (sorry but it happens).
